Lonnie is a gorgeous young buck. He is powerful and oh-so smooth. Lonnie is long and level with a wide rump and a wide open escutcheon. He tracks perfectly square. Lonnie’s front legs are perfectly straight, his rear legs are nicely angled, and he stands on very pretty feet with perfectly shaped cloves, tight toes and strong short pasterns. I love to stand at the fence and just look at him. Lonnie is the prettiest buck we’ve had since Spin Doctor, who was also from this doe line.

Lonnie’s sire Edward is the product of a Joshua granddaughter bred back to him. In 2006, Joshua was Premier Sire and sire to the Junior National Champion. Joshua’s sire Victor is one of best sires of the last several decades. Victor has 15 Permanent Champion daughters, is sire to the 2003 National Champion, and was Premier Sire in 2004.

Lonnie’s dam Louise appraised 92, finished her Permanent Championship as a first freshener, won Best in Show as a mature doe, and has been just as worthy in the milk parlor.  Louise’s doe line has gorgeous udders, high components, level lactations, and spectacular general appearance. Louise’s sire is linebred on Dream Maker, who sired 8 Permanent Champions, the 1999 Reserve National Champion, the 2000 National Champion, and the 2006 Reserve National Champion (littermate sister to our Alice’s dam).

I knew Lonnie was a keeper at birth, even before his hair was dry. Lonnie earned his first championship leg as a yearling, and finished as a two year old. He was awarded Best Buck in Show 3 times in 2013. Lonnie appraised 90 as a two year old as well, with V or E in structural categories, earning “Excellent” in General Appearance.  Lonnie has a great future ahead of him.
