Sid is a huge buck. At 4 years old, he’s 40 inches at the withers, well over 300#, and he’s as long as a freight train. Sid finished his permanent championship as a yearling. Even as a yearling, I couldn’t hold Sid’s collar and reach his hind legs to set his feet. Not only is Sid huge, he is also extremely correct. At 2 years old, Sid appraised 91 overall with E in head, shoulder assembly, front legs, rear legs and rump. He scored V in feet and back. And as if that is not enough, as a bonus, Sid has a very easy, sweet temperament, which he passes to his daughters. He gives credence to the Saanen being referred to as the “Gentle Giant”. Sid has a very deep pedigree, loaded with excellence in the show arena. Sid’s sire, Aloka, is linebred on the McQuitty Farm “A” line. Aloka is the product of Ammo (son of Allison, the 1996 National Champion) bred to Aloha (2001 & 2002 National Champion). Both Allison and Aloha descend from McQuitty Farm Alice, who was a huge doe with incredible feet and legs. Alice finished her permanent championship as a 2 year old first freshener and milked 22.5 pounds of milk on a One Day Test as a 3 year old. On the maternal side of the pedigree, Sid’s dam Sudz, has many Best Doe In Show wins to her credit. Ace Ventura is full brother to Ace Velvet, the dam of the 1999 National Champion, Willow Run Satin. The 2002 National Junior Champion was sired by Sultan, Sid’s half brother out of Sudz. Sid’s litter sister, Sudsy, appraised 88(V+EE) as a 2 year old first freshener, and has 2 championship legs. Sid’s pedigree is full of promise, both in milk and in type. “Elegant” is the one word that best describes our Sid daughters. They are stylish and eye-catching with their graceful carriage. Jolene is our only Sid daughter in milk, but what an exciting yearling! She’s earned one milking leg already, and appraised 88! Jolene has high components with 3.7% butterfat and 3.2% protein. Sid’s three dry yearling daughters, Lucy, Sylvia, and Sera, have each earned a dry leg and then gone on to win Best Junior Doe in Show with at least 100 junior does competing. At the 2004 National Show, they were 10 th, 11 th and 16 th place Senior Yearling, and were 3 rd place Junior Get of Sire. Our Sid daughters are all very tall, with the three dry yearlings already 31”-32” tall. These three dry yearlings are also very correct, and all appraised Ec overall. Sylvia was named the 2005 All American Dry Yearling, and Jolene was named the 2005 All American Milking Yearling. We look forward to seeing these daughters next year as 2 year olds. Semen: 5/$100
