Victor is a VERY exciting addition to our herd.
We’ve admired Victor and his offspring, and cannot believe our
good fortune to have gotten the opportunity to add him to our herd.
Victor exudes power. He is long, uphill and very wide. At 7 years old,
Victor appraised 91 with V or E in all structural categories. Victor’s
dam Vanilla appraised 90, and her dam Veronica appraised 91. Both of
these does have PTA’s in the ideal range in ALL of the thirteen
linear traits.
Victor was the 2004 Premier Sire. He is sire to GCH
Windsor Manor WMV Francine, the 2003 National Champion. Francine’s
daughter Francesca easily topped the Yearling Milker class at the 2004
National Show. Another outstanding Victor daughter is GCH Windsor Manor
Victor’s
Dream. She was 3 rd Place Yearling Milker at the 2001 National Show,
2 nd Place 2 Year Old in 2002, and 9 th Place 3 Year Old in 2003. Dream‘s
daughter Dresden was 5 th Place 2 Year Old in 2004. Victor’s
strong genetics flow generation to generation to generation.
In my visits to Willow Run, it was always easy to pick out the Victor
offspring. They are tall, long, and
wide, very open in the escutcheon, and have a tremendous amount of
strength and substance. Victor also has a very sweet temperament which
he passes to his daughters.
As though all of that incredible type and sweet temperament is not
enough, he has a positive PTA for milk. What more could we ask of a
buck? I am still pinching myself to make sure that I really own this
magnificent animal. |
Wooly
has pizzazz. He’s stylish
and pretty, and carries himself with a “look at me” attitude.
He went to a 3-ring buck show at 10 months old, where he placed first
in his class, was named Junior Champion in all 3 rings, and was used
one time for Grand and one time for Reserve for Champion of the Day
over the Senior Champions. It was exciting to have Wooly get his first
official leg at such a young age. Wooly was named the 2005 Reserve
All American Baby Buck.
Wooly has substance and lots
of bone. He’s very level across
the topline, and stands on excellent feet and legs. Wooly is very smoothly
blended throughout, and has a particularly nice shoulder assembly.
Wooly is one of those unusual Saanen bucks who was pretty as a baby,
and stayed pretty throughout his growth spurts. I expect that when
Wooly is done growing, he will be stunning as a mature buck.
Wooly’s pedigree is an exciting mix of the Windsor Manor and
McQuitty Farm bloodlines. Wooly is linebred on Dream Maker. Wooly’s
dam is a Dream Maker daughter, and his sire is a Dream Maker grandson.
Dream Maker was used extensively in the Willow Run herd. Dream Maker
daughters have elegance and style, with exceptional fore udders. Wooly’s
sire, Scorpion King, is litter brother to Sneer, who was 3 rd place
milking yearling at the 2003 Nationals, as well as first place Dam & Daughter.
Scorpion King’s dam, Smirk, was the 2004 National Champion and
Best Udder. Smirk is sired by Ansell, who is Legacy (sire of 2001 & 2002
National Champion Aloha) bred to McQuitty Farm Allison (1996 National
Champion). Wooly’s dam, Jacuzzi, is another of the lovely Dream
Maker daughters at Willow Run. Her dam, Jessi, is heavily linebred
on Kid City Astrologer, who sired many nice does for the McQuitty Farm
herd. Windsor Manor and McQuitty Farm are intertwined on both sides
of Wooly’s pedigree.
It looks like Wooly’s daughters are going to have his pizzazz.
Teensy earned her dry leg by going Best Junior Doe in Show in both
rings at a 2 ring show at only 6 weeks old! Wooly’s other two
daughters, Trixie and Louise, were not shown because they were mid-May
kids and too young to be competitive, but they are every bit as pretty
as Teensy. These three Wooly daughters should make a lovely Get of
Sire for 2005.
