Lace is the type of doe who has strong production and the strength and structure to sustain her production throughout her mature years. Lace is powerful bodied, and has a tremendous udder. Lace has lots of width and has a long, flat bone pattern. Lace’s rear udder is high and wide, and the fore is long and smooth. Lace’s udder is extremely snug with a large area of attachment as well as a strong medial. This is an udder that is going to stay in place forever. She has nicely shaped teats, and is easy to milk by hand. Lace came to us as a dry doe in the spring of 2004. We bred her shortly after she arrived, and she freshened in October of 2004. Lace has done splendidly for us, both in the milk parlor and the show ring. She finished her 305 lactation in August with nearly 3,000 pounds after a long, hot summer and an active show season, then went on to milk an extended lactation. Even though she was stale for the 2005 show season, Lace was 1st Place Aged Doe at each of the six shows she attended, and was Reserve Champion three of those times. We sold Lace in the fall of 2005, and she came back in the summer of 2007. Lace lived through a pit bull attack while she was gone. She was disfigured enough that her show days are over, but she still appraised 89(VEEE) at 7 years old even with the scars. Lace is home to stay, and will be used as a brood doe. The photos of Lace are from the 2005 show year when she was 5 years old.
