Jorgina is a huge, powerful doe. She has lots of width and lots of bone, and is smoothly blended throughout. Jorgina stands on very strong feet, which are perfectly shaped and tight toed, with strong, short pasterns. She scored Excellent in feet at 4 years old. Jorgina has a pretty, well- attached udder. Jorgina has won several Best Udder of Breed awards. Her udder is firmly attached with a large area of attachment and a strong medial. Her udder is high in the rear, smooth in the fore, with a pleasing size and shape to the teats. Jorgina is our easiest doe to milk by hand. Jorgina is proving to be an excellent brood doe for us. Jorgina’s Doc daughters - Janey in our herd, and Jeannette in Jolene Self’s herd - have both scored 88 as 2 year old first fresheners. Janey has 2 championship legs (one in milk and one as a Best Junior Doe in Show) was 17 th place 2 year old at the 2004 National Show, and was the 2005 Reserve All American 2 Year Old. Jorgina’s dry yearling Doc daughter, Jeena, earned her dry leg with a Best Junior Doe In Show award, was 9 th place Senior Yearling at the 2004 National Show, and was the 2005 Reserve All American Dry Yearling. We are eager to see Jorgina’s kids by Sid. |

Jolene is our first Sid daughter to freshen, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Jolene is an outstanding yearling! Her body style has eye appeal. Jolene is elegant and stylish as well as very correct. She is very long-bodied, and very level across the topline. She has a very pretty face, and a long graceful neck. Even with all of her prettiness, Jolene’s best feature is her udder. This year’s appraiser commented that Jolene’s udder is an “E udder that will always be an E udder”. Jolene earned her first championship leg this year as a milking yearling. She was unbeaten in her age class, and was also Grand Champion twice competing with all of our 2-year-olds! On top of such an exciting show season, Jolene was named the 2005 Reserve All American Milking Yearling. Jolene’s daughter by Wooly, Justina, earned her dry leg at only six weeks old by winning Best Junior Doe in Show in both rings at a two ring show. As if that is not enough, Jolene has very impressive component levels, with overall lactation levels of 3.8% butterfat and 3.2% protein. We expect great things from Jolene. We have repeated the breeding to Wooly. |

Loreleah has been an exciting doe for us. She finished her permanent championship by the time she was 60 days fresh on her first lactation in the spring of 1997. In 1998, Loreleah earned Best of Breed with 29 Senior Saanen does competing. In 2000, Loreleah placed 8 th in the nation in the National Saanen Breeders Association’s Total Doe Competition. In 2001, and again in 2002, Loreleah appraised 91 as an aged doe. She has been on One Day Test several times in her lifetime, and her butterfat has always been well over 4%. Loreleah is an exceptional general appearance doe. She stands on straight front legs and perfectly angled rear legs. Her feet are tight toed with strong, short pasterns. Loreleah has an incredibly smooth front end, with tight shoulders and front legs perfectly positioned under her withers. She has lots of body width without sacrificing dairyness. Loreleah is still sound at 11 years old. On a crisp morning, you will still catch her running in the pasture with the yearlings. Loreleah continues her family’s tradition of excellence, while she passes her fine qualities through her offspring. GCH +*B Kickadee Hill Spin Doctor, Loreleah’s son by +*B Colquitt’s Wolfman Jack, appraised 3-03 90(E+E) 5-03 89(VVE). We have 3 Doc daughters in milk: GCH Glory (3 yrs), GCH Janey (3 yrs) GCH Jeena (2 yrs). Glory and Jeena both finished their championships as first freshening 2 year olds. Janey finished her first weekend out as a 3 year old. Lucy, Lorleleah’s daughter x McQuitty Farm Sweet Talkin Sid, was 16 th place Senior Yearling at the 2004 Nationals. Louise, Loreleah’s granddaughter through her daughter Lorraine , earned Best In Show this season as a dry yearling. The majority of the Loreleah offspring, both daughters and granddaughters, have butterfat levels well above breed average, with several over 4.0%. Loreleah has had a huge impact on our herd with her style and her high components. She has truly been an asset to our herd!

Tess has had a very exciting show career. She has placed well at the National Show each year that she attended. Starting with the 1996 National Show, Tess placed 4 th as a Milking Yearling. In 1997 she was 10 th place 2 Year Old. In 1999 she was 9 th place 4 Year Old. Then at 6 years old, Tess was the first place 5-6 year old and went on to be named the 2001 Reserve National Champion. Tess is maternal sister to the 1997 National Champion, GCH McQuitty Farm Tweedle Dee. Tess’s son, Willow Run Atlas Teaque, was purchased by Redwood Hill for $3600 in the 2002 Spotlight Sale. Tess has spent her entire life in a large commercial environment. You would expect that an animal in such a rigorous environment would have a shorter lifespan than the animal in the small, hobby herd. But to look at her, you would never guess she is 11 years old. Like Loreleah, Tess is a very sound 11 year old. She is a living testament that correct type gives the strength to function well into the later years. We were lucky to have the opportunity to add Tess to our herd. |

Lorraine is a pretty bodied doe with depth and angularity. Her front end is extremely clean, with shoulders that blend smoothly into the neck and the withers, a prominent brisket, elbows tight to the body wall, and front legs perfectly positioned under her withers. Lorraine’s rear legs are near ideal, and she has nicely shaped feet with tight toes. Lorraine has a pretty udder that is well-balanced, with a strong medial and beautiful rear. She got off to a late start by kidding in May, so she was only out to one show, where she stood Reserve to Glory in one ring and was 4 th in the 2 nd ring. Lorraine had twin does by Wooly, who both have their dam’s prettiness. There are many generations of lovely does in this doe line. Lorraine is bred to Clyde for a linebreeding on Loreleah. |

Hank's greatest strength is in his general appearance. He appraised "V" or "E" in all structural categories. He was long and wide-bodied with a wide, long, level rump. Hank had nearly ideal shoulder assembly. During one appraisal session when I was quizzing the appraiser on shoulder assembly, the appraiser told me that "when you want to envision a perfect shoulder assembly, just go look at this buck". Hank had excellent feet and legs, with short pasterns. To top this all off, he was pretty in the face. Hank was never beaten in a breed class. He has earned 8XGCH, 8XBOB, 3XBBIS. At 9 years old, he still appraised 91. Even in his old age, he was still strong on his pasterns. We had Hank his entire life, and he has truly been an asset to us. His progeny carry on his legacy of beautiful front ends and excellence in general appearance. Hank passed away in March, 1999. Even though Hank is still with us through his progeny, we miss his gentle spirit and his smiling face.

Jeannie was a large, powerful doe, who was my all-time favorite doe. As is evidenced by her appraisal scores, she just continued to improve with age. Jeannie earned her dry leg as a yearling, easily finished her permanent championship her first weekend out as a 3 year old, and was GCH at 6 of the 8 shows she attended that year. Jeannie had an excellent front end with tight shoulders and perfectly straight fore legs. She stood on ideal feet, both tight toed and deep heeled, as well as having strong pasterns. Jeannie's rump was extremely wide, and level thurl to thurl. Jeannie had a very pretty face, and was very smoothly blended throughout. She was the kind of herd queen who ruled with the twitch of an ear. Jeannie was classy to the bone.

Ray is a powerhouse! He is 40" at the withers, and weighs 300#. Ray is more than just massive, he is long, wide and level. He has an excellent rump and excellent rear leg angulation. Even with all of the weight he carries, Ray's pasterns and feet are exceptional. Ray is simply an awesome sight to behold. He's one of those bucks who is full of himself. He dances and prances his way through a show ring. Ray was shown as a yearling at a 3 ring show where he was Grand in 2 rings and Reserve in one ring over older bucks, but did not get a leg as there were only 9 bucks. Ray was shown in 3 states as a 4 year old, and he is now a Permanent Champion.
Ray's daughters, competing in One Day Tests at shows, have ranged from 10.2# to 14.8# milk, with 3.4% to 3.6% butterfat. On appraisal, each Ray daughter that I have freshened has scored at least one level higher in mammary than her dam. All of his daughters have exceeded their dams in size, both in height and width. I selected Ray for udder improvement, and got the added bonus of all of this size and high butterfat.
